Summary
  • The President of the Foundation is responsible for accomplishing the financial, service, programming, and quality goals for the Foundation, with a primary objective to build healthy, thriving communities in the 30-county region served. The President accomplishes this through highly effective relationships with the Foundation Board of Trustees, direct reports, the executive team and other organizational leaders, community members, and other key stakeholders of the Foundation—including pre-K through adult educational institutions, economic development groups, civic and business partners, and social service agencies,. The President also oversees day-to-day management of the Foundation organization while embracing servant leadership. The President leads efforts to support projects associated with Mosaic Life Care. All Foundation operations are carried out in alignment with Mosaic’s Mission/Vision/Values and Strategic Priorities.
Duties
  • Works in collaboration with the Chair of the Foundation Board of Trustees to articulate a vision for the future direction of the Foundation and assures that every decision made advances the Foundation toward that vision.
  • Builds highly effective partnerships with key stakeholders of the Foundation, including the Foundation Board of Trustees; direct reports; the executive team and other organizational leaders at Mosaic Life Care; educational institutions; social service, civic and business partners and other community members;, and other key stakeholders. The President engages with stakeholders to define, understand and prioritize issues and initiatives that assure the Foundation meets its short and long-term vision for healthy, thriving communities.
  • Leads, administers and improves all aspects related to performance outcomes for the Foundation—assuring achievement of top-line performance outcomes. The President collaborates with the MLC CEO and Foundation Board to establish annual and ongoing measures of performance and assures alignment to the Balanced Scorecard Measures.
  • Serves as a key advocate to assure all Foundation and related programs are carried out to meet stakeholder needs and advance the vision.
  • Accomplishes his or her goals through effective selection, development and coaching of his or her organizational team.
  • Works with Board committees and the CFO of the System to oversee all financial management aspects, including budgeting, investment management and the auditing process. As a member of the executive team, the President also participates in the overall system strategies to assure appropriate financial and resource needs; helps prioritize among competing needs; and works to finalize the annual budget.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree required; Masters Degree preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of ten years progressive leadership experience in a not-for-profit setting and demonstrate a record of achievement in the following areas: • Record of success in major philanthropic endeavors (capital campaign, annual giving, investor recruitment and retention, planned giving, endowment development, foundation and government grants, and special events). • In collaboration with others, proven success in developing and meeting or exceeding performance metrics in alignment with the strategic priorities of the organization. Understands and values the use of scorecards to measure, monitor and accomplish goals. Continuously seeks ways to mitigate performance gaps. • Understands how to create and deploy effective performance improvement strategies—using organizational resources to their best benefit. Understands the disciplines of performance improvement, such as the PASTE model. Effectively engages organizational experts to assure optimum outcomes. • In collaboration with others, proven success in creating and deploying plans to assure stakeholder satisfaction/engagement goals are metEffectively engages others in understanding and actively working toward high performance—energizing and motivating caregivers to confidently pursue desired outcomes.
